Top 15 strongest characters in Baki (latest Manga), ranked!

Baki are known for their extremely powerful warriors and just compiling a list like this feels like a feat.

All the characters in Baki are human – or, almost human in the case of the likes of Pickle and Jack to some extent – but their powers are only superhuman.

I have previously built a list of the strongest characters of the anime version, including the latest Son of Ogre series. In this list, I’m looking at the 15 most powerful characters from the entire Baki universe – manga and anime.

15.Doppo Orochi – Cannibal

Doppo Orochi was Mitsunari Tokugawa’s underground tournament champion before Baki won the title. He is the 10th Dan Master of Shinshinkai Karate and the top of the school with over 50 years of martial arts experience.

In his younger days, Doppo was a cannibal and tiger killer; he can even uproot trees. He wasn’t even discouraged in a fight with Yujiro Hanma. This is also the willpower that allows him to fight despite having his hands cut off (by Dorian) and his eyes cut off (by Yujiro).

Doppo is a Karate purist and has plenty of tricks up his sleeve. He is also the creator of his own style of Karate, ShinShinKai Karate, along with Orochi-ryu Karate, a style just for him.

14.Shibukawa Goki – The Strongest Judoka

Shibukawa Goki is one of the oldest and most revered warriors in Baki and is considered a Master throughout the series. He is 75 years old and has been training since the Second World War.

He is the main character using Aiki’s jujutsu technique, using the opponent’s strength against them. This is incredibly useful because of course, Goki won’t compare to beasts like Pickle and Sukune when it comes to brute strength. In fact, Jack, Pickle, Baki and Yujiro all learn and fight this Aiki technique because it is so powerful.

Goki shows off a really cool finger grab as he just took one of Mohammad Alai Jr’s fingers to beat him. He was also able to beat Doppo, reaching the final in the Max Tournament.

13.Guevaru Jun – The Strongest Pirate

Guevaru is described as “one of only three living men stronger than a machine gun”. Guevaru is a new character introduced in the recent Netflix anime Hanma Baki: Son of Ogre. He is believed to be a version of the famous Cuban revolutionary, Che Guevara.

He is a former pirate and one of the “free people” in the Arizona prison, along with Oliva. Guevaru is an expert in the Ninjutsu Mukakure-ryu fighting style.

The greatest move that Guevaru has shown is his murderous accuracy. He turned a strand of his hair into a needle and inserted it into an inmate’s ear , tearing his cochlea and causing him to lose his balance.

12.Hanayama Kaoru – The strongest self-deprecator

Hanayama only becomes strong in the second half of the manga. In the anime, we saw him fight off the insane death row inmate Spec and maintain his demeanor and stance for a good 5 minutes under his attack series. And then, well, he plucked Spec’s calf muscle like it was nothing .

Hanayama is strong enough to leave Yujiro with a bloody nose. He caught Musashi’s knife between his knuckles and was even able to withstand his sword attacks. Pickle recognized Hanayama as a worthy opponent.

Hanayama’s physical strength is no less than a tricycle. He actually fought a great white shark with his bare hands and crushed its brain – all while in the water.

11.Katsumi Orochi – Strongest Karateka

Katsumi is Doppo’s adopted son and one of the Karate prodigies. He is the 3rd class of Shinshinkai Karate and is nicknamed the “damage weapon” for his Karate skills.

In the Pickle Wars saga, Katsumi refines her Karate techniques with the help of Retsu and Kaioh Kaku. He evolved his Mach Punch move into Mach Fist, which he used during his fight with Pickle.

He had great endurance and strength – he fought even though his arm was completely broken and his skin burned. Hitless Blow is his ultimate move which he developed through Kaiou Kakus’ suggestion and used it against Pickle 3 times . He transforms his arm into a whip using extremely versatile techniques; the attack was so fast that it made an explosive sound that corroded his flesh to the marrow of his bones. After he lost his arm in a fight with Pickle, Retsu’s arm was planted on him.

10.Motobe Izo – Weapon Master

Now, I admit Motobe isn’t the strongest in the manga, but it’s not all about brute strength in Baki.

Motobe has a number of tricks up his sleeve including potions, smoke bombs, aramid thread chain mail armor, brass knuckles, and a variety of Japanese weapons. Some people may think that using weapons and wearing armor is cheating, but a war is a war.

Motobe defeats Miyamoto – although Miyamoto doesn’t fight seriously. He is also able to defeat Baki early on, and fights well with Jack and Yujiro. Motobe practices his own style of jujutsu, along with kenjutsu.

9.Biscuit Oliva – America’s Strongest Man

Oliva is the strongest man in America and is known as The Unchained because of his insanely brute strength. Oliva’s greatest feat was defeating Muhammad Alai Jr., death row inmate Sikorsky, Kaiou You and Shobun Ron in the Great Chinese Tournament.

During a fight with Guevaru, he punched him so hard that the entire world’s GPS system started misbehaving . Oliva has such dense muscles that they can absorb a bullet from a shotgun at close range.

I wouldn’t say Olivia is a martial arts expert – far from that, in fact. But it’s like he almost doesn’t need it. His brute strength covers everything. He threw Baki through a steel door for crying out loud. He is also capable of inhuman muscle regeneration; he once healed a bullet wound just by eating some steak.

Jack is Yujiro’s eldest son and Baki’s step-brother. The guy was injected with steroids and also had multiple bone lengthening surgeries.  He is 8 feet tall and 200 kg in the manga, making him the biggest/tallest character in the series. 

He had a lot of pit fighting experience and was as strong as hell because of his excessive training and determination. Even after Pickle bit him in the face, Jack actually came out of his coma and returned to the fight in no time .

Not only is Jack strong enough to kill a polar bear with his bare hands, but he also displays tactical genius in combat . He finds a way to defeat Shibukawa despite the latter’s Aiki expertise. He can also attack Motobe using his teeth, which break apart in the process. But this only causes Jack to replace all of them with titanium.

7.Nomi no Sukune II – Strongest Sumo Wrestler

Sukune is a fairly new character, but he stands out with his death. He can turn coal into diamonds. Scientifically, the minimum pressure required for diamonds to form is about 10GPa, which is about 100,000 times the normal atmospheric pressure.

Remember Oliva’s dense muscles? Yes, well, Sukune crushed them to pulp and broke all of his ribs with no effort. Sukune is strangely strong – he stays upright even when punched by Yujiro.

Sukune just recently joined the latest season of Baki-Dou. He is a legend of Ancient Sumo just like his father, and also of age. I can’t wait to see more battles where Sukune literally strangles his opponents.

6.Kaku Kaioh – The Strongest Man in China

The least impressive thing about Kaku Kaioh is that he is almost 150 years old. He is known as China’s Supreme Master Kenpo and is proficient in special techniques that allow him to fight despite his size and age.

He is one of the only characters in the entire series that can go up against Yujiro. He fought great against him and even Yujiro had to respect him. He is truly one of the greatest warriors that ever lived.

Kaioh Kaku’s use of Shaori allows him to take powerful punches without injury, and also allows him to have enough power into his attacks to break a concrete wall. If he’s as strong as this is 100, imagine his strength in his younger days.

5.Pickle – Strongest Primate

Pickle comes from the Jurassic – a prehistoric death machine that really cannot be considered the same species as the others.

Pickle is definitely half-monster, and his battles are all based on brute force. He relies on his animal instincts and his attacks are quite literally barbaric. The fact that he was removed from the current civilization is a pro for him, because martial artists like Baki find it difficult to predict his unfamiliar moves.

He is a bit slow when it comes to modern techniques but he was seen performing some Aikido moves during his battle with Baki . In the manga, Pickle can almost compare his powers with Yujiro, although not in his final form.

4.Yuichiro Hanma – Goblin’s Father

Yuichiro is the first Hanma – Yujiro’s father and Jack and Baki Hanma’s grandfather. He passed away but if he was alive, he might just be one of the two or three strongest characters on the show.

At the moment, we have very little information about him, but from the achievements we know, Yuichiro easily deserves his spot on the list. He was able to destroy 2000 American soldiers during World War 2 with a unique and extremely powerful technique called Dress. 

I really wish they brought him back from the dead, somehow; It will be interesting to see how dynamics change in the Hanma family. It would also be really cool to see him fight with his family, as well as with skilled fighters like Miyamoto and Kaku.

3.Miyamoto Musashi – The Strongest Swordsman

This legendary samurai is the main antagonist in Baki-Dou. The thing about Musashi is that he is equally deadly without his sword. He is so powerful that he was actually brought back to life by Sabuko to see how he would stand up to Baki, Yujiro, Pickle, and the others.

With his bare hands, he can dismember 8 bodies and cut a revolver as if it were nothing. With his samurai sword, he is seen piercing Motobe’s aramid thread armor, and even the dinosaur-like Pickle. Musashi crushed Oliva and even killed Retsu with a single slash.

The only point with Musashi is that he is too stuck in the past. He is not familiar with most modern techniques and martial arts and is useless for stopping underhand technique such as a kick to the ball. But he is the creator of Ninten Ichiryu and can destroy small armies. I think if his fight with Baki had continued, he might have dominated him. Musashi did a ridiculously good job, since he didn’t even have his sword.

2.Baki Hanma – The Strongest Man

Baki, son of Ogre, is the main protagonist of the manga, and deserves to be #2 on this list. The most impressive thing is that Baki was quite weak at first but now, no one can compare in his strength except his father.

Yujiro, after their epic battle at the end of the third season in Hanma Baki, himself admits that Baki should be treated as his equal. After Baki reactivated his demon, he was actually able to inflict pain and injury on Yujiro, who said he had never used so much effort in a fight .

Baki’s Cockroach Dash technique achieves an acceleration of 00.01 milliseconds and is probably the fastest move in the series. The power of his imagination helps him create unique techniques. His speed, adaptability, and endurance have allowed him to defeat or at least oppose the likes of Biscuit Oliva, Pickle, and Musashi Miyamoto.

1.Yujiro Hanma – The Strongest Creature

Yujiro “The Ogre” Hanma is the strongest being on Earth and the strongest character in the Baki series. At the age of 16, he was able to single-handedly defeat the American army. He can stop the movement of tectonic plates and is fluent in all martial arts techniques known to man.

Yujiro has never lost a battle in his life. He can crush bulletproof glass, katana, and other weapons, repel 100 riot police, and knock up a prehistoric elephant as if it were an ant. His attacks are said to have the same impact as nuclear explosions.

Strength is one thing; Yujiro is also fast as hell, moving at a speed almost as if he were teleporting. Only 3-4 boxers are even capable of taking him down. The best thing about Yujiro is that he is never in his final form. He is always going strong and growing.
